The Social Health Authority (SHA) is in the process of establishing the National Emergency Healthcare Services, which will feature a single, designated toll-free number for accessing ambulance services. These ambulances will respond to life-threatening emergencies, providing timely emergency medical care within the community and ensuring the rapid transport of patients to the nearest designated Emergency Care Centre. Services will be provided irrespective of a patient’s SHA registration status, in accordance with the provisions of the Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund (ECCIF).
