EMKF Q3 Impact Report – Small Steps, Big Impact

Mother Teresa once said, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”

At the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF), that philosophy guides our mission — strengthening Kenya’s emergency healthcare system one emergency department, one ambulance service, and one community health worker at a time.

This quarter, one of those small steps became a national turning point, as we work alongside the national government to establish a nationwide emergency healthcare system that ensures every Kenyan can access life-saving care when it’s needed most.

This milestone builds on EMKF’s decade-long commitment to saving lives by strengthening emergency healthcare systems across the country — from renovating and equipping public emergency departments, to training emergency healthcare providers, and integrating technology that improves ambulance response and coordination.

Each of these actions, though small on their own, is creating a ripple of transformation. Together, they represent lives saved, futures restored, and hope renewed — proof that focused, consistent action can truly reshape an entire healthcare system.
