In a major stride toward enhancing emergency medical care in Kenya, the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation (EMKF), in partnership with the Taita Taveta County Department of Health Services, has completed the training of emergency medical dispatchers and ambulance operators under the Ambulensi Program. This training forms a core part of EMKF’s support to the county in its efforts to establish a sustainable public ambulance service.
Taita Taveta joins a growing list of counties — including Kilifi, Turkana, Nakuru, Nyeri and Siaya — that are benefitting from EMKF’s Ambulensi model. With more counties coming on board, the vision of a nationally integrated public ambulance system is quickly gaining momentum.

Together, we are creating a Kenya where no one dies for lack of timely emergency care.
