Kenyans will now access quality healthcare in an efficient, affordable and non-discriminatory manner. This follows the signing of four revolutionary and progressive Universal Health Coverage bills today by President William Ruto.
He said the Emergency, Chronic and Critical Illness Fund will handle emergency and chronic illness costs once social health insurance is depleted. This fund will facilitate ambulance evacuations and provide 24-hour emergency medical care stabilisation.
“This fulfils the express wishes of Article 43 (2) of the Constitution, which provides that no Kenyan should be denied emergency medical treatment,” the president said.
